These Hackathon Rules apply to the “AURA API” hackathon organized by AdEx. You may not submit a hackathon entry unless you agree to these Rules. Your submission of an application form constitutes your agreement to the Rules.
The words "include" and "including" as used in these Terms mean "including but not limited to."
Eligibility
Requirements to enter: In order to participate, you must fill in the Hackathon submission form and provide a link to the Git repository of your Hackathon entry uploaded to GitHub, or upload a video
To receive a prize, you must submit a valid Ethereum wallet address.
AdEx reserves the right to verify your eligibility and to adjudicate any dispute at any time.
All communication regarding the Hackathon will be carried out in English.
Entry requirements
No purchase is required to participate in the Hackathon.
You must fill in the Hackathon application form and provide the required information about yourself to participate.
You must provide a link to your project submission in the form of a Git repository on GitHub. If this is not possible due to the nature of your project, you can also submit a video of how it works.
Your submission must not contain any viruses, Trojan horses, worms, harmful code, or any other element that is malicious or damaging.
Project submissions can be submitted by 23:59 CET on October 22, 2025.
Hackathon timeline
Start date - 22nd of September
Final submission deadline - 22nd of October
Reviewing submissions - 23rd - 28th of October
Announcing winners - 30th of October
Judging and scoring
Hackathon entries will be evaluated by 3 (three) judges, members of the core AdEx team.
Hackathon submissions will be judged on the following criteria:
Quality of the project
Functionality
Performance
Security
Copyright compliance
Originality
Prizes
The total prize pool of the Hackathon is $12,000 paid in USDC to an Ethereum address provided by the participants.
A total of 4 prizes will be awarded, distributed as follows:
The best project will be awarded $5,000
The next two will be awarded $3,000 each
One project will be awarded $1,000
Taxes. Winners are solely responsible for complying with all applicable tax laws and filing requirements. Winners are solely responsible for paying all taxes, duties, and other fees imposed on prizes awarded.
Disqualification
Participants may be disqualified from the Hackathon and forfeit any prizes if AdEx reasonably believes they have attempted to undermine the legitimate operation of the contest, including:
Providing false information in their application form;
Breaching these Hackathon rules;
Interfering with the administration of the Hackathon;
Interfering with the ability of other participants to take part in the Hackathon;
Submitting a project that infringes on a third party’s copyright;
Submitting a project that violates any applicable law;
Submitting a project that was developed before the official start of the Hackathon;
You may report to AdEx at [email protected] any violation of these Rules by another contestant. AdEx will then investigate any such allegations and will take all applicable measures.
Ownership and privacy
All project submissions remain the intellectual property of the individual who has developed them. AdEx does not claim any intellectual property developed during the course of the Hackathon.
For any submission you make to the Hackathon, you grant AdEx a non-exclusive, worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, free license (with the right to sublicense) to reproduce, prepare derivative works of, distribute, publicly perform, publicly display, and otherwise use such submission.
AdEx will use the information you have provided in the Hackathon application form for any subsequent communication to administer the Hackathon.
By accepting a prize, you agree that AdEx has the right to share information about the project you developed relating to the Hackathon.
The name and/or nickname you provide in your Hackathon application form may be displayed publicly on the Hackathon website.
Data Protection
AdEx is entitled to process (i.e. collect, process, use, transfer and store) personal data provided by the Participants through the forms on the Hackathon page for the purpose of completion of the registration procedure, evaluation of the applications, and performing the selection process of the Participants.
The personal data processed for the above purposes by AdEx are: names; e-mail address, and any other information that Participants voluntarily enter, use, or provide for participation in the Hackathon. This also includes data provided for participation in any kind of marketing activities organized by or on behalf of the AdEx.
Upon accepting these Hackathon Rules each Participant explicitly agrees his/her personal data as listed above to be processed by AdEx in compliance with the applicable law and for the purposes listed above, and the following:
Direct marketing and/or profiling, including offering new Services or services of other providers, sending non-requested trade offers with marketing purposes;
Statistical purposes.
The personal data of each Participant might be transferred to third parties (commercial partners of AdEx) including outside the Republic of Bulgaria including for the purposes of direct marketing and/or profiling upon compliance with the applicable procedures in this regard.
Each Participant is entitled to withdraw his/her consent under section 9.3, including regarding direct marketing and/or profiling, at any time by submitting a written request for this to AdEx via e-mail to the following address: [email protected], following the statutory required content under the applicable law, including the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA). In case such a withdrawal request is given before the end of the Hackathon, AdEx may disqualify the Participant.
Each Participant is entitled to access and/or correction of his/her own personal data, to object against data processing if he/she has a legal ground for such objection, to be informed for transfer of data to third parties and/or in case such third party uses the data for direct marketing purposes as well as to object against such use or the transfer itself. The Participant may exercise any of these rights by submitting a written request to AdEx via e-mail to the following address: [email protected], following the statutory required content under the applicable law and/or the PDPA.
For the purpose of the personal data processing, AdEx shall use a system for data processing in compliance with the requirements of the applicable law. AdEx guarantees that all persons who are assigned to the personal data processing are duly instructed regarding the mandatory legal requirements and the protection of the data for illegal access and have declared that will not disclose the processed data in violation with the applicable Bulgarian law, the internal policies and instructions of AdEx, and these Hackathon Rules.
Participants are duly informed that AdEx shall keep the personal data for a term of 5 (five) years after the end of the Hackathon. After expiry of the said term, AdEx is obliged to destroy the respective data.
AdEx shall neither edit nor disclose any personal information of Participants, or about their participation in the Hackathon, and shall not provide the information thereby collected to third parties, unless:
these Hackathon rules or a statute mandate otherwise, or the Participant has given express written consent;
that information is required by State authorities or officials who, under the applicable legislation, are entitled to require and collect such information in compliance with the statutory procedures;
that information is provided to the AdEx’s employees or subcontractors for the purpose of administration and conducting the Hackathon;
This is mandated by law and statute.

ADEX IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY INCOMPLETE, FAILED, OR DELAYED TRANSMISSION OF YOUR APPLICATION INFORMATION OR SUBMISSIONS DUE TO THE INTERNET, INCLUDING INTERRUPTION OR DELAYS CAUSED BY EQUIPMENT OR SOFTWARE MALFUNCTION, OR OTHER TECHNICAL PROBLEMS.
General terms
By accepting these rules, you acknowledge that participation in the Hackathon is voluntary.
You may submit more than one project submission during the course of the Hackathon. All projects must be submitted separately and will be evaluated separately.
The results of the Hackathon will be posted on the AdEx blog and official social media channels after its end.
